Troopers were alerted by 911 to a kitten hiding under a concrete barrier along southbound Interstate 5 near Tacoma around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Body camera footage shows two troopers on their hands and knees digging the pint-size tabby from a small crack in the barrier.

One of the troopers then drove the 1-month-old kitten to the vet.

“Meow!” the cat said in the video, on the ride to the animal hospital.

“Meow!” the trooper answered.

Spokesperson Trooper Shannon McKenzie said a trooper in the district took the kitten home. It was unclear if the cat would be adopted or fostered. She weighed about a pound.

It was also unclear how the kitten got there in the first place.
