TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Tampa City Council is expected to vote Thursday morning on $4.1 million dollars in funding for the South Howard Flood Relief Project, considered the "early works" construction phase of the proposal.
The work would encompass "maintenance of traffic and site preparation, installation of new water mains, and roadway reconstruction / resurfacing nearby areas," according to public City of Tampa documents.
"We know that there's insufficient, inadequate infrastructure for stormwater in many areas across the city. South Howard itself is one that has been studied and under consideration for 10 years or more," said Brandon Campbell, the interim Mobility Director for the City of Tampa.
