WALLACE, Idaho — The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office said it is investigating an alleged hit-and-run involving Shoshone County Sheriff Holly Lindsey .

According to Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris, the incident involved another car, not a pedestrian and it remains unclear who struck whom.

Lindsey said the crash happened while she was off duty and driving her personal car.

She shared her resignation letter on the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page :
