FARGO — Tens of millions of dollars are being invested into upgrading internet speeds in the Fargo-Moorhead area by multiple providers.
Midco is the latest company to pledge a commitment to upgrades over the next few years and aims to do so with as few disruptions as possible.
Midco said the upgrades will not take effect for everyone for about three years but noted the continued growth of the Fargo-Moorhead area was a factor in the company’s investment.
The next phase of Midco’s “Fiber Forward” initiative is underway.
“Think about it like a technical facility that's the brain of the network, and then the rest of the network has its endpoints; we're going to upgrade both of those,” said Steve Mattern, senior vice president of operations at Midco.
