NORTH BRADDOCK, Pa. —

A 15-year-old boy with autism is being hailed a hero for saving his neighbor from a burning home in North Braddock on Wednesday.

"He was able to call 911, and he walked right in that house and took that woman, that elderly woman out, and saved her,” said Tracy Musilek. Advertisement

Xaiveyon McMillan Taylor’s mom, Tallula Thompson, said the woman in the burning duplex on North Avenue waved her son over when he got off the school bus.

“He’s very intelligent, but he's never experienced nothing like this before. So, he tried to put it out, and when he couldn't, he pulled her out of the house,” Thompson said.

Thompson said she also ran into the house to try and smother the fire, but it was too severe.
