JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. — Dozens of people who have moved out of the beleaguered Dosker Manor apartments in Louisville are getting a helping hand from across the river.

The Happy Home Furniture Bank in Jeffersonville, Indiana , has provided them with essentials for their new home, including packages of linens, kitchen items, sofas and chairs.

The project partners with LMHA, which has been relocating residents from Dosker Manor and three aging downtown buildings with health concerns.

"I'm making a difference. I think we all think that we are making a difference in the world," Happy Home volunteer Vickie Muncy said. "This is really the biggest success of my life."

Muncy recognizes that many residents are starting over and could use as much support as possible.
