An Indian-origin man from New York has been arrested for allegedly working two full-time jobs at the same time and stealing taxpayer money.

Mehul Goswami, 39, is accused of embezzling more than $50,000 in taxpayer funds while secretly working a second job at GlobalFoundries in Malta during his official work hours with the New York State Office of Information Technology Services.

According to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, Goswami began the second job in March 2022, juggling both roles remotely.

He now faces a non-bailable Class C felony charge of grand larceny, which carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
