A goods train was passing by when the blast happened
A bomb blast took place on the railway track between Salakati and Kokrajhar in Assam
at about 1.00 AM on October 23.
The track was damaged but no injury or casualty has been reported, Northeast Frontier Railway officials said in a statement.
The blast triggered panic among passengers as movement of 8 trains were affected due to the blast.
The blast happened when a goods train was passing the tracks.
“The train manager reported a heavy jerk, after which train was stopped. On checking, it was found that there was damage on the track and sleepers, due to a suspected bomb blast,” the NFR statement said.
