A 5-month-old baby boy was abducted by his non-custodial father in New Orleans on Wednesday night, Louisiana State Police said in a press release.

The abduction prompted an AMBER Alert across Louisiana around 11:30 p.m.

Braydon Nix is accused of assaulting the baby's mother and then taking the child around 6:30 p.m. in New Orleans, police say.

New Orleans Police say Nix is wanted on one count of simple kidnapping in the case. He is also actively wanted on one count of simple robbery and one count of domestic abuse battery of a pregnant person in a separate case.

He was last seen with the child, 5-month-old Braylon Parker, in the 3700 block of Washington Avenue. Parker is a Black child with a bald head and brown eyes. He was last wearing blue clothing and was wrapped in a blue blanket.
