Come 2026, visitors to Launceston will be greeted by Sky Vessels, a trio of cups which symbolise the region's three main waterways, after a public poll .

Of the 1060 votes cast, 539 were for that option, compared to 521 votes cast for the shell necklace-inspired Kanamaluka Kanalaritja - a margin of just 18 votes.

While 666 votes came from people residing in the City of Lau
