SEATTLE — Police are searching for a suspect in a deadly hit-and-run in Ballard that took place Wednesday night.
A driver in a silver sedan struck a pedestrian on 15th Avenue Northwest around 10 p.m., then fled the area, according to the Seattle Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found a man lying in the road. The Seattle Fire Department attempted to save the man's life, but he was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives with the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad processed the scene and are leading the investigation. The victim is in the care of the King County Medical Examiner.
Police have not provided a make or model of the suspect's car, but did say the vehicle has front-end damage.
