Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be launching his campaign for the Bihar assembly elections from Friday. Ahead of his first rallies in Samastipur and Begusarai, the PM will visit Karpuri Gram to pay respects to the late leader and Bharat Ratna recipient, Jannayak Karpoori Thakur.

“Prime Minister Modi will launch his campaign from Karpoori village, where he will pay tribute to the great leader of the people and then address his first election rally in Samastipur,” state BJP president Dilip Jaiswal said.

PM Modi's choice of Karpuri Gram to kick off his campaign is being seen as the NDA attempt to attract the Extremely Backward Castes (EBCs) for the upcoming two-phase Bihar election on November 6 and 11.
