While attention has been largely paid to the competitive race for New Jersey governor, Garden State voters should also know the entire General Assembly is up for grabs in November's general election.

All 80 seats in the Legislature's lower chamber will be on the ballot. The current breakdown of the Assembly is 52 Democrats and 28 Republicans.

Each of the state’s 40 legislative districts has two Assembly representatives and the end of the county line ballot design led to a higher number of challengers during the June primary than in years past.

There were 24 competitive districts on the Democratic side of the aisle, while Republicans saw contested races in seven.
