Following US President Donald Trump’s announcement of an additional 100 per cent tariff on Chinese goods, Chinese diplomat Xu Wei in India cautioned that Beijing would respond in an appropriate manner if the US did not withdraw the move. He urged Washington to “correct its mistakes” to avoid further retaliation.
“On the issue of the US-China tariff war, China’s stance is very clear. We don’t want any conflict. But if we are pushed, we will definitely respond," Wei said according to a CNN-News18 report, adding, “We will fight, but our doors are open. We are repeating that cooperation benefits both countries."
He further urged the US to correct its mistakes and address the pending issues. “If it does not, then China will take the necessary steps to protect its rights. It is our attitude,"
