Democrat Mary Peltola is ahead of incumbent Alaska Senator Dan Sullivan, a Republican, in a hypothetical 2026 matchup according to a new poll conducted by Alaska Survey Research.

Newsweek contacted Senator Sullivan and Peltola, a former House Representative, for comment on Thursday via email outside of regular office hours.

Why It Matters

Democrats are hoping to take control of the Senate in the November 2026 midterm elections . Currently the body has 53 Republican Senators against 47 who would caucus with the Democrats.
