A massive fire broke out at the JMS Business Centre's building on the morning of Thursday, Oct 23.

People were seen stranded on the top floor of the building as the smoke clouds emanating from the flames surrounded the building.

At least 10-15 people were trapped in another wing of the building, according to a civic official, reported news agency PTI.

Rescue operations were underway with fire tenders seen trying to extinguish the fire.

"The are safe. The rescue operation is underway," the official said.

At least 12 fire engines and other fire extinguishing equipment were reportedly used to control the flames, a fire brigade official said, as per PTI.

Various agencies such as ambulances and police vans were also mobilised.
