The ongoing strike by Alberta teachers appears set to enter its fourth week on Monday, the same day Premier Danielle Smith has hinted her government could order those educators back to work.

So far, the province has otherwise remained tight-lipped on details about when and how it plans to force teachers back to classrooms. Meanwhile, the two sides remain away from the bargaining table and far from a deal.

MLAs are set to return to the legislature on Thursday for the government’s speech from the throne with regular assembly meetings to resume Monday.
