A young farm worker tragically died just weeks after being bitten by a fly. The family of Andrew Kane, a healthy 31-year-old, are grappling with their sudden loss after he passed away in hospital.

Andrew's mother, Rachel Kane, revealed that her son was bitten on the elbow by a horsefly while working away. Initially, he was prescribed antibiotics by his GP and appeared to have no adverse reaction. However, approximately two weeks later, Andrew, from Northumberland, collapsed during a night out.

He was rushed to hospital where it was found he had developed sepsis. Andrew spent several weeks in a coma before sadly passing away with his devoted mother at his side, onSeptember 18.
