Portland Trail Blazers coach and former Detroit Pistons legend Chauncey Billups was arrested in Oregon with charges connected to an illegal poker ring, as first reported by ABC News on Thursday, Oct. 23.
Law enforcement officials told ABC News that the poker operation had ties to the Mafia, though the report didn't specify who else was involved.
Billiups coached in the Trail Blazers' 118-114 home loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, Oct. 22 before facing arrest. He is expected to make an initial court appearance on Thursday, with FBI Director Kash Patel making announcement about the charges at 10 a.m. ET.
It is not yet clear what Billups is charged with.
