ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Starbridge, a local nonprofit organization, celebrated its 10th anniversary on Wednesday by hosting the Community Champion Awards at Comedy at the Carlson.
The event highlighted four local advocates for their work in supporting people with disabilities, as guests enjoyed a dinner, performances by local comics, and speeches from the awardees.
"It's really important that people with disabilities are at the forefront of making their own decisions and that they are part of their own journeys," said Kristen Lopez, VP of communications and advancement at Starbridge.
