SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs beat the Dallas Mavericks 125-92 in their season-opener, led by Victor Wembanyama's record-breaking 40 points, 15 rebounds, and zero turnovers. It was the most points scored by a Spur on opening night.

Stephon Castle scored 22 points and had six assists. Devin Vassell added 13, Keldon Johnson finished with 11, and rookie Dylan Harper had 15 points and four rebounds. Julian Champagnie added five. Harrison Barnes ended the night with seven.

The Spurs are 1-0 and will next visit the Pelicans Friday night.
