Penta Career Center sophomore Landon Middleton, 15, honked in an excavator while laughing with his friends Wednesday.
“Every time you honk, it speaks to your IQ,” joked Mike Tube, Ohio regional product support manager for Murphy Tractor and Equipment Co.
Landon, an exploratory student at the center, said he doesn’t know exactly what he wants to do, but the several companies and colleges that visited the career center were a good start to finding out.
“I’m just kind of exploring my options,” Landon said.
He was one of 400 high school students from Penta and other schools including the Four County Career Center in Archbold, Ohio, and Oak Harbor High School who spoke to companies specializing in diesel-based technologies including heavy equipment, commercial truck maintenance, and power
