A 21-year-old has been arrested on a series of offences after a man was slashed with a knife. Emergency services were called to reports of disorder in Solihull before 8pm on Wednesday.

The victim was taken to hospital with a chest injury. Officers took a suspect into custody in connection with an assault on an emergency worker and a public order racism offence.

Police have issued an appeal asking for anyone who might be able to help to get in touch.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A man has been arrested after another man was stabbed during disorder in Solihull.

"We were called just before 7.55pm last night to Holly Lane after a man in his 40s was slashed with a knife. He was taken to hospital with an injury to his chest which is not believed to be life changing.
