Former Cleveland Cavaliers guard and assistant coach Damon Jones was arrested as part of an FBI crackdown on illegal gambling, according to a report on Oct. 23.
Jones, according to an ABC News report, provided inside information about games to individuals who used that knowledge to place sports bets. He is also linked to a case involving illegal poker games.
Jones spent three seasons with the Cavs from 2005-08 appearing on the team along with LeBron James that made the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history. In those three seasons, he averaged 6.6 points and 1.9 assists. He played for 10 teams during his 11-year NBA career and finished with averages of 6.6 points, 2.7 assists and 1.6 rebounds.
