CHICAGO, Ill. (WTVO) — Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker announced the creation of a new state commission aimed at documenting and investigating alleged abuses committed by federal agents during Operation Midway Blitz.

Speaking at a press conference in Chicago on Thursday, Pritzker described the federal operation as a "military-style assault" on the city, citing incidents of harassment, racial profiling, and excessive use of force.

“Trump’s masked agents have detained innocent American citizens and legal residents,” Pritzker said. “They’ve thrown tear gas and smoke grenades at peaceful crowds.”
