NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Halloween is one of the best times of year for those with a sweet tooth.

Each state has their own favorite candy, and Connecticut is an outlier in which one takes our top spot, according to 2024 data from DoorDash.

Nationally, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups remain strong as America's favorite Halloween candy, followed by M&M's, Hershey's Milk Chocolate Bars and Snickers.

In Connecticut, we prefer more of a gummy candy rather than chocolate, according to DoorDash. Connecticut's favorite candy is Sour Patch Kids — and we're the only state in the U.S. who feels that way.

Other states that were on their own "candy island" were Colorado, who is the only state with Haribo as their favorite candy, Washington, who made Twix their choice and Alaska, whose favorite candy is
