The Bay Area Sports Show in New Baltimore had its best year by far in 2025.

Launched in 2019, the annual event draws thousands of people to the city each year and has grown to include three days of fishing, food and family fun. This year’s event netted $10,000 for the city’s parks and recreation department.

“We just completed our sixth year, really trying to gain some traction,” New Baltimore Parks and Recreation Director Adam Abraham said at an Oct. 15 city council meeting. “And by the donation, you’ll see that we had our best year by far.”

The idea for the Bay Area Sports Show was brought to the city by Dave Malkiewicz, president of No Limits Fishing Adventures Inc., a Clay Township-based nonprofit that provides fishing charters for children, adults and veterans with disabilities. Pro
