New Delhi: After months of negotiation, Lionel Messi has agreed on a contract extension with Inter Miami that will keep him at the Major League Soccer side till 2028.

On Thursday, the deal was announced that keeps the Argentine icon with the American side till their planned move into a new stadium next year.

“HE’S HOME,” Miami said in a video posted on social media where Messi could be seen signing the contract inside the new stadium that remains under construction.

“To enjoy him, watching him enjoy doing the things he is doing, he’s very, very competitive and he tries to translate that to the team,” Inter Miami coach Javier Mascherano said Thursday.
