Three workers remain at Foothills Industrial hospital, with one taken to Sheldon Chumir

Five workers have been reported with non life-threatening injuries on Thursday morning after an industrial incident occurred inside a manhole in southeast Calgary.

Emergency services spokesperson Stuart Brideaux said four have been transported to hospitals and details of the injuries are not known at this time.

Three workers are currently hospitalized at Foothills hospital, while one was taken to Sheldon Chumir. The fifth worker declined to be hospitalized following assessment at the scene, Brideaux said.

At 7:55 a.m. police responded to reports of the incident, which occurred at Macleod Trail near 14 Ave. SE.
