A fearless squirrel staged a brazen food heist on a man dining at a Miami restaurant.
While enjoying lunch at The Drexel in South Beach, Kevin Sabo and his husband, Samuel Richardson noticed the furry culprit inching closer to his table.
"It was clear right away that this was no ordinary squirrel — it had zero boundaries with humans,” Kevin said.
He filmed as the squirrel climbed onto the napkin covering Samuel’s burger and fries, scheming to snatch a snack. “As you can see, it wanted a fry very badly,” Kevin said.
Watch the video above to see Drexie the squirrel — a regular at the restaurant — in action.
Drexie isn’t the only squirrel cozying up to humans. In Texas, Breyana Elwell discovered her porch fan had become a favorite spot for neighborhood squirrels. Now, her patio doubles as a squirrel spa where they lounge to beat the heat.
After accidentally leaving a fan on overnight, Breyana stepped outside to find an unexpected visitor lounging in front of it — a squirrel.
At the time, temperatures were over 100 degrees. When Breyana saw how much the fan helped the squirrel cool down, she decided to leave it running. The next day, she found two squirrels enjoying the breeze. That gave her an idea, and she quickly began constructing what she calls a “squirrel city.”
