Lauren Parker will be receiving the CAF's Exceptional Athlete Performance Award at the Heroes of Sports Evening in La Jolla. A freak training accident in July of '27 left Parker paralyzed from the waist down.

But her perseverance, along with a helping hand from the Challenged Athletes Foundation, and Parker is now an elite para-athlete, who is a sources of inspirations for athletes around the world.
