KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - The Kershaw County Fire Service announced Thursday afternoon that its crews, along with the Camden Fire Department, are currently battling a brush fire.

The fire service said in a Facebook post that the fire is approximately five acres at this time and is located around the 900 Block of Highway 1 North in Cassatt.

Officials with the Kershaw County Fire Service said that the fire has currently been contained but that crews will remain on the scene for the next several hours to put out hotspots.

Crews said that at this time, they are unsure of how the fire was started.

Drivers are urged by fire officials to use caution when driving in the area.
