Third baseman Alex Bregman is Boston’s only Silver Slugger Award finalist this year.
That says a lot about the 2025 Red Sox, who were a top offensive team in many metrics, but were also felled by their bats in crucial spots throughout the year and in the postseason.
But first, Bregman, who is up against Cleveland’s José Ramírez and José Caballero, whom the New York Yankees acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays at the trade deadline.
Ramírez looks like a lock to take home his sixth career Silver Slugger when winners are announced on Nov. 7. Through 158 games, the Guardians’ stalwart star hit .283 with a .863 OPS, 168 hits, 34 doubles, 30 home runs, 103 runs and 85 RBI. He only struck out 74 times, and drew nearly as many walks, 66.
