STEARNS - Tuesday night concluded the 48th District Tournament, with Somerset Christian and Wayne County, after splitting their regular season series, vying for the crown. It was the Lady Cougars who prevailed, winning 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 25-16, 25-20) to claim their second district title.
The first set went to the Cougars in thrilling fashion. The team was down 5-1 early, but fought back and kept it close until the serving of Elise Meggs earned them the tie. They eventually got the lead and didn't look back as they won the set 25-21.
