BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - Governor Tate Reeves announced the formation of ‘Mission 3′ on Thursday, an effort to support military bases and grow the local economy.

The governor’s office describes it as a public-private nonprofit defense community support organization focused on supporting military bases, growing the economy, and bringing South Mississippi communities together.

The name Mission 3 reflects the organization’s dedication to three core pillars: Military, Defense, and Community.

“Mississippi’s military and defense communities are worthy of appreciation, support, and investment,” said Reeves. “Through Mission 3, Mississippi will add another valuable tool in its toolbox to better support those who have sacrificed so much for us.”
