Cult Film Director Is Going To Try to Make Johnny Depp Happen Again

Alas, the campaign to resurrect Johnny Depp’s career is gaining momentum. He’s currently filming Day Drinker with director Marc Webb ( 500 Days of Summer , The Amazing Spider-Man ), starring alongside Penélope Cruz. He also has a Terry Gilliam project in the works, where he plays Satan opposite Jeff Bridges’ God. And now? He’s set to portray Ebenezer Scrooge.

Humbug.

The film comes from director Ti West—who, to be fair, is great. Most recently, he helmed the X trilogy for A24, and I’ve always had a soft spot for one of his earlier horror films, The Innkeepers .
