MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Black Lives Matter Grassroots organization along with family members of Breonna Taylor, Jaylin McKenzie and Glenn Foster, brought attention to ongoing police brutality Wednesday morning outside Memphis City Hall.
Families shared their personal experiences, detailing how these losses have dramatically impacted their lives. They say their collective goal is to engage the community in efforts to end police brutality and foster improved communication and cooperation with law enforcement officers.
Ashley McKenzie, mother of Jaylin McKenzie, emphasized the need for unity, stating, “We need the community to come out and support us and we need the police to work with the community. But we’re asking the community to work with the police as well.”
