BATH, N.Y. (WETM) – A Bath man has been arrested on a felony charge after officials say he left a dog locked up in a home until eventual death.
Zachariah D. Hill, 23, was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 22, on the charge of aggravated cruelty to animals, a class E felony, as stated in a release from the Bath Police Department.
Officials say Hill was charged with the crime following an investigation into a case of animal cruelty in the Village of Bath. Officials say the investigation began after police were called to a home on Rumsey Street on Oct. 4, 2025, at about 5:40 p.m. for the report of a decomposition odor.
