MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) - Vermont Governor Phil Scott on Thursday released what he calls a short-term action plan to address public safety challenges facing Burlington.
The plan comes after Scott met two weeks ago with Burlington Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak and at the urging of the business community to deal with crime.
The governor last week implemented the first steps of the 14-point action plan, including the appointment of a special prosecutor and standing up an “accountability court” to triage cases involving individuals with five or more cases pending.
