BLOOMINGTON ( 25News Now ) - Bloomington fire crews worked tirelessly Wednesday evening to put out a structure fire that left five residents, including a child, without a home.
According to Bloomington firefighters, more than 30 firefighters ended up responding to the blaze just before 8 p.m. Wednesday at a two-story house converted into two separate apartments on Douglas Street. When they arrived, fire crews immediately noticed heavy flames extending into the attic.

Crews knocked down the inferno with multiple large-diameter hose lines and proceeded to search the building for anyone inside, but found no one. They used hand tools and thermal imaging cameras to find flames in the attic and put them out.
