[CENTRAL CITY, Iowa] — Voters in the Central City School District will soon have the opportunity to decide on a new bond proposal for the first time in two decades. The $7 million project aims to renovate classrooms and enhance the learning experience for students.

The proposal includes constructing a new entrance for the elementary school and addressing basic repair and maintenance needs.

"The facilities in Central City are aging. There are things that are sort of obvious that need to be done, that don't quite meet the needs of current instructional practices and programming that the district wants to continue to be able to provide," said Lisa Glenn, Central City Community Schools Interim Superintendent.

The bond will be fully funded by Central City residents.
