LANSING, MI - The Michigan Economic Development Corp. says Gotion Inc.’s controversial electric vehicle battery parts plant project is dead and will no longer be getting any state funding.
Gotion planned to develop a $2.36 billion factory in Green Charter Township, near Big Rapids, that would create 2,350 jobs. Michigan backed the development, a flagship electric vehicle investment, with a $715 million incentive package that included $175 million in grants and a 30-year tax break valued at $540 million.
