Former WBZ-TV news anchor Kate Merrill has dropped claims against one defendant in her federal lawsuit alleging she was forced out of her job over unfounded allegations of racial bias, records show.
In a brief filing last week in US District Court in Boston, Merrill’s attorneys filed a “notice of voluntary dismissal” of her claims against Courtney Cole, an anchor at the news station.
Cole didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
Merrill’s lawyers said Cole “has not served any responsive pleading in this action (nor have any of the other defendants).”
