SOUTH HAVEN, MI — An image depicting the iconic Lake Michigan shoreline is set to be hoisted high in the sky.

A bright new graphic of the pier and lighthouse will be featured on the new water tower, not far from the shore in South Haven.

The composite tank with a concrete pedestal and upper steel bowl will hold about 1 million gallons of clean drinking water 160 feet in the air, providing system pressure and storage, the city of South Haven said.

The $6 million water tower is located at the South Haven Public Works Building at 1199 Eighth Ave., and it’s being built as part of a larger group of improvements.

The logo is a design that represents the South Haven community, organizers said.
