ANN ARBOR – Michigan hockey remains undefeated after shutting out the reigning national champion Western Michigan Broncos Thursday night.
Freshman goalie Jack Ivankovic made a career-best 32 saves in the Wolverines’ 4-0 victory over No. 2 Western Michigan at Yost Ice Arena.
Jayden Perron, Michael Hage, Adam Valentini and Garrett Schifsky each chalked a goal for Michigan.
Michigan, which entered the game ranked third nationally, has outscored its opponents 44-7 in its best start since 1979. The Wolverines will travel to Kalamazoo Friday for game two of a home-and-home series.
