At least three police officials were injured after a mob barged into the Bakal police station in Katni district of Madhya Pradesh late on Wednesday night. The group attacked police officials and damaged property after a day-long protest led by the Karni Sena went out of control.

According to some media reports, nearly 30 to 40 people stormed into the police station around midnight and attacked on-duty officers. The mob allegedly assaulted Head Constable Awadhesh Mishra and Constable KK Shukla, leaving both injured.

Other police personnel rushed to the spot, hearing the noise, and managed to bring the situation under control. The injured police personnel were taken to Bahoriband Hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, Constable Shukla was seriously injured and was late
