LOUISVILLE, Ky. — John “Mr. Kentucky Derby” Asher is the latest to be honored with a Hometown Hero banner.

Presentation Academy announced Thursday, it will be home to Asher’s banner.

Asher, the former vice president of racing communications at Churchill Downs, died on Aug. 27, 2018. The renowned media and public relations expert was with the track for over 20 years. What many might not realize is his strong ties to Presentation Academy.

Asher was a proud Presentation dad. He and his wife, Deidra, sent their three daughters–Heather ‘98, Erin ‘11, and Emma ‘14—to Presentation. He supported their participation in various school activities, especially volleyball and field hockey.
