MORIARTY, N.M. (KRQE) – The Moriarty Fire Department responded to two separate incidents on Thursday on I-40. Initially, crews were sent to a semi-truck fire on I-40 westbound at mile marker 195 at around 10:20 a.m. Crews said that there was no active fire, heat, or smoke found.
While on the way to the semi-truck, crews found a crash involving three semi-trucks and three vehicles. Four patients were taken to Albuquerque hospitals for injuries. There were no deaths.
I-40 was shut down but has since reopened. Officials said the two incidents were not connected.
