TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A major intersection in Pima County was closed following a multiple-vehicle crash on Thursday, Oct. 22.
Around 2 p.m., the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said that Valencia and Cardinal would be closed due to the crash.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
It has been a deadly month on the roads in southern Arizona. 13 News has reported on 17 fatal crashes, and 20 people have been killed in October.
On Oct. 1, Jorge Alberto Mejia was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident in the 1100 block of South 6th Avenue in Tucson.
On Oct. 3, motorcyclist Michael Tyler Brown was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Speedway and Wilmot in Tucson.
On Oct. 3, Kenneth Engle was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Arivaca Road in Pima County.
