The draft for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department's Strategic Plan lists three priorities for the agency in the coming years: fostering a supportive environment for officers, improving community safety, and investing in department infrastructure.
IMPD Police Chief Chris Bailey unveiled the top three priorities in the draft that will serve as a five-year roadmap at a news conference on Oct. 23.
"Because the IMPD does not belong to one group, it belongs to all of us," Bailey said. "Our officers, our employees, and our community partners all play a vital role in shaping our future. That's why, over the summer, we reached out to hear directly from each of you."
The department turned to Taylor Advising to help draft the plan that will be implemented from 2026 to 2031.
